Another win for the University of Central Punjab
The University of Central Punjab won the Sports Champions Trophy for 2021-22 organized by Higher Education Commission (HEC). UCP lifted the General Sports Trophy for the 11th time in a row, a grand 'Trophy Comes Home' ceremony was held to congratulate the players and celebrate the win. The Trophy Comes Home celebration was celebrated in a grand manner in the auditorium of the University of Central Punjab, Chairman UCP Mian Amir Mehmood attended as the chief guest besides Executive Director Punjab Group Sohail Afzal, Pro-Rector UCP and Director of the faculty for Sports. A significant number of directors, teachers and students participated in this commemorative ceremony.
The chief guest of the event, Mian Amir Mehmood, distributed cash prizes, coaches were also given tickets for Umrah and the 4 best players were awarded special prizes through the draw. Mian Amir Mehmood praised the players and coaches for their excellent performances; he said that UCP will continue to provide all possible support and resources for the welfare of sports and players. The players presented the trophy to Provost UCP Dr. Nasr Akram.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Akram stated that the talented players dedicated to the spirit of victory will make Pakistan's name shine bright in the future.
Over 200 universities and educational institutions participated in the competitions organized under the auspices of HEC. UCP won gold medals in 20 out of 30 events, silver medals in 5 events and bronze medals in 2 events to win the sports trophy for the eleventh time in a row. In the men's and women's categories, UCP players won gold medals in football, baseball, hockey, swimming, table tennis, wrestling, weightlifting, tennis, judo karate and basketball among other events.
