A controversial decision by Lahore District Education has been overturned

Lahore's District Education Authority (DEA) has reversed its previous decision and allowed 8,000 private schools to engage in extracurricular activities.

A notification issued by the DEA Lahore two weeks ago forbids private schools from conducting extracurricular activities without its approval.

Extra-curricular or after-school activities a student partakes in play a vital role in his or her overall development. These activities offer students the chance to explore their interests, develop new skills, and form relationships with others.

Moreover, these activities assist students in developing their teamwork, communication, and leadership skills, all of which have a long-term impact on their careers. Schools and parents should encourage and support extracurricular activities as part of a student's education.
