16,000 teaching jobs cancelled in Punjab
Thousands of educators are at risk of losing their jobs after Punjab canceled the expression of interest (EOI) for their recruitment.
An EOI regarding the hiring of a management firm to conduct tests of candidates for educator recruitment was canceled by Punjab's School Education Department on 12th January 2023.
According to the notification, SED's Section Officer (SO) Recruitment has canceled the EOI for the subject mentioned above advertised on 26th November 2022.
Since the number of posts for educators is increasing, SED has canceled EOI under Rule 35. Fresh proposals will also be sought in response to future advertisements.
SED announced thousands of teaching positions in all public schools operated by the Punjab government in June 2022 led by Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N).
Rana Mashood Ahmed Khan, the former Punjab Education Minister, stated that the province would recruit more than 16,000 educators.
