Teachers have to come to school during holidays, Shahram Tarakai
Peshawar: Provincial Education Minister Shahram Khan Turki has said that all teachers will be regularly present in schools during the holidays. In areas where internet facilities are not available, children will be given homework. If parents find it difficult for their children to study, teachers will be present in schools to guide them.

He expressed these views while giving a detailed briefing to the journalists at the Media Cell on school closure and educational activities. Education Secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry was also present on occasion. The provincial minister said that holidays from November 26 to December 24 have been by the federal government and the NCOC. However, he has also discussed the matter in detail with the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. There will be winter vacations from December 25 to January 11, 2021. All the examinations in December have been postponed, held at the end of January if the situation improves. However, the examinations for teachers' recruitment will be held under the strict SOPs as per their schedule.
In answer to a question, he said that all teachers would perform their duties in schools regularly. They will also give homework to students, and then the assignment will be checked later as this work will be linked with the annual examinations, and from this, the quality of education of the children will also be assessed. The education minister said 30 percent of the children would be allowed to stay in the hostel, including remote areas.

He said that the attendance of teachers in schools would be ensured. On the question of charging fees even during school holidays, he said that the matter is in the court, so it cannot be discussed. However, he would say that private schools have their issues and parents have their own. He added that the schools' children would come only one day a week to collect the homework.
