Sindh Government Gives Teachers the Good News
The Sindh Government has officially announced that teachers working on a contract in public schools and colleges will receive increments this year. Amidst all the chaos in Pakistan momentarily, this is a ray of sunshine and a huge motivating factor for those working in the education sector.
The Sindh Government has proposed this increment, with a summary of details sent to the Auditor General of the province for approval. According to the report, Kindergarten and Junior School teachers who were hired back in 2018 and 2019 are the ones who will be receiving the annual increment.
Although this is great news for the teachers, they have requested that the provincial government notify their permanent employment places as soon as they can so that the measures can be implemented at the earliest possible notice.
Additionally, in January of this year, the Government removed the requirement that all teachers must have a BEd Degree in order to be promoted to higher classes, in all public schools. This resulted in teachers with over nine to fifteen years of service receiving a promotion to BPS 15 and 16 levels, respectively.
