Shafqat Mehmood clarifies two points about Single National Curriculum
Federal Minister of Education and Vocational Training Shafqat Mehmood released a statement to explain two points regarding the Single National Curriculum that will soon be implemented (SNC).
The SNC "prescribes minimum learning standards i.e. the core curriculum", the minister said.

This means that for all pupils, this would be the basis for studying and the compulsory portion to be used in their syllabus. "Schools are free to teach any extra content or even additional subjects, “Schools are free to teach any additional material or even extra subjects.
The other point the minister explained was that, so long as the document complies with the SNC, schools are in no way limited in their use of books.
"Private schools can use any book that is consistent with SNC," Mehmood wrote.
