Rs277.5bn allocated for education sector in Sindh
Allocating Sindh’s education budget for the fiscal year 2021-22 on Tuesday, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah talked about the significance of education as a particularly most important aspect in the progress of a nation.
“The government of Sindh envisions imparting quality education to all, allowing our children to understand their full potential. We must ensure that the curriculum being followed in schools is not based on outdated ideas and train our teachers so that they take a sincere interest in motivating passion and inquisitiveness in our children from the onset so that our forthcoming generation includes thinkers and visionaries in every field of inquiry,” he said.

Having the idea insight, he said that the government had set aside the highest proportion of resources towards education in 2021-22. “It will see a growth of 13.5 percent over the allocation of the current financial year. So for the next fiscal year, we suggest improving the budget for education to Rs277.5 billion from the previous Rs244.5 billion.
“In the existing fiscal year of 2020-21, the annual development program distribution for the education sector was Rs21.1 billion. It contained a budget for school education, college education, universities, empowerment for students and staff with disabilities, and skill development. In 2021-22, the government has reserved Rs26 billion for the sector,” he announced.
