Punjab: Teachers at Government Colleges Find their Promotions Jeopardized
Due to non-availability of funds for training by Higher Education Punjab, the promotion of teachers in government colleges is in jeopardy.
According to reports, the Higher Education Department has refused to provide funds for training, while 100 million rupees have been requested for said training of college teachers.
The Higher Education Commission of Punjab has the final say on the promotion of teachers in government institutions. According to the policy of 2010, it is mandatory for teachers to take training for these promotions; while no such academy has been created to train teachers and no funds have been allocated as yet.
