Earlier, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) had ordered the higher education institutes to get their staff and students vaccinated, but the varsities have said that in the present circumstances, it is an impossible goal to implement.
The National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) also had previously notified the universities’ authorities to get their staffs vaccinated by 14 June, but most of the universities had been unable to comply due to the limited availability of doses.
The health experts had also suggested that it is important for the students and staff to get vaccinated in order to curb the spread of coronavirus, but currently, the shortage of doses had hindered the process.
