PSDF and Coursera launch free online courses

PSDF, Pakistan's largest fund for skills development (funded by FCDO and the Government of Punjab), has collaborated with Coursera, one of the world's leading online learning hubs, to give our youth free, internationally recognized courses.

The collaboration was announced at the Coursera online conference during Coursera CEO's Global Keynote.

The collaboration between PSDF and Coursera fits into this potential, providing a wide range of courses in fields specific to the sector. It is primarily aimed at improving career development, increasing revenue avenues, and encouraging self-employment.

The courses currently offered by PSDF are four months' duration. They include the fields of Digital Marketing (for SEO, Social Media Marketing and Marketing Analytics learning), IT (from Software creation to JAVA & PYTHON coding languages) to Finance (Financial Accounting Fundamentals).

These courses will be offered free of cost to the younger generations who need them the most, with PSDF further promoting upskilling with a stipend of PKR 6,000 to be earned upon the training.

Top teachers from 190 world-class universities and organizations will be part of this platform. Through video tutorials, homework assignments, and group discussion boards, learners can take advantage of learning at their own pace.

Speaking at the launch of the collaboration, PSDF's CEO Mr. Jawad Khan shared the value of online education for young people to develop marketable skills for the 21st century, "As we navigate our way out of the global pandemic of Coronavirus, the need for the hour has become digital preparedness and online learning."

Coursera CEO Jeff Maggioncalda said that "We are very excited to be partnering with PSDF, Pakistan's largest skills development fund, to empower young men and women in Pakistan with online learning to improve their potential."

Thus, the collaboration between PSDF and Coursera has been officially introduced and will be available free of charge to poor and needy people.

The courses can be accessed through learn.psdf.org.pk. Applicants have been encouraged to apply as soon as possible to kick start their careers, upgrade their skills, and discover new income avenues.
