Private schools and colleges boycott Sindh gov’s decision

The All-Sindh Private Schools and Colleges Association (ASPSCA) has rejected the Sindh home department's notification regarding the rescheduling of winter vacations in the province's public and private educational institutions.

Chairman ASPSCA, Haider Ali, stated that the ASPSCA had already scheduled winter vacations from December 20, 2021 to January 1, 2022, in accordance with the Sindh education department's directions released earlier this month, and that the holidays will be observed according to the same timetable.

The Sindh home department stated on Sunday that the winter vacations in all public and private institutions in the province will be revised, with the winter holidays in schools and colleges now being observed from January 3 to 10, 2022.

The Sindh government first rejected the NCOC's suggestion on Friday, but changed its mind on Sunday after the home department announced that winter vacations will be observed from January 3 to 10.

After the 18th constitutional amendment, Chairman ASPSCA stated that all provinces are empowered to observe holidays on their own schedules, and questioned why the central is interfering in provincial concerns.
