PMC has established a national medical scholarship fund
The National Scholarship Fund has been established by the Pakistan Medical Commission. The goal of the PMC Scholarship Fund 2021 is to give financial help in the form of scholarships to individuals accepted into Pakistani medical and dental universities based on need and merit. Candidates must meet a certain level of merit, and the scholarship or loan is applied straight to the student's tuition fees. A scholarship payment will be given directly to the college for the student's tuition fee and will not be repaid to the Trust by the student.
The amount of a scholarship or student loan given to a student will not exceed the amount of the student's annual tuition cost. The authorities will ensure that applications are available to all eligible students who wish to apply for a scholarship or student loan, and that candidates must submit their applications through the PMC online portal.
National Medical Scholarship Fund
The need and merit of the student will be appraised, and the scholarship or student loan will be processed according to a defined transparent system. The resources available to the student in the form of family income and other aid, including other scholarships acquired, will be evaluated for purposes of determining need. The student's MDCAT exam scores will be the primary criterion for merit, however the student's achievement in the HSSC programme may also be taken into account. The amount of a scholarship or loan will be determined by the Trust's funds available for a given year and on the basis of a five-year forecast of funds availability.

Eligibility Criteria
- Any candidate who meets the requirements for admission to a Pakistani medical or dentistry college recognised by the Pakistan Medical Commission and has been accepted can apply for a scholarship or student loan.
- A student who is awarded a scholarship or a student loan will get it throughout the duration of the scholarship or loan, as long as they remain enrolled in good standing in the programme.
- A scholarship or student loan will be extended each year if the student meets and maintains the academic or merit benchmarks that apply throughout their period of study in order to keep the grant. Furthermore, no student shall receive a scholarship or loan for a time longer than the program's minimal duration.
- If a student fails to pass any professional exam in two attempts, the scholarship will be revoked and the student loan will be recalled and repaid within the time frame specified by the concerned authorities.
Approval of Scholarship
An applicant for a scholarship or loan must be notified by the 31st of December of each year whether or not their application has been granted, as well as the amount of the scholarship or loan. The college must provide the original Approval Note granted by the Trust to the trustees upon the student's admission. Within fifteen days of receiving the original Approval Note, the trustees will pay the approved amount immediately to the institution for the benefit of the student's account. A scholarship provided to a candidate does not give the student the right to enrol in medical or dental school; it is only valid and enforceable if the student was admitted solely on the basis of merit.
