Please don’t vilify students; they aren’t a Mafia, Ali Moeen Nawazish
The academic expert and Cambridge high scorer 2009 said that it is unfair to expect students to perform well in exams while their education remained disrupted throughout the year.
Taking to Twitter and sharing an interview with a local TV channel, Nawazish said that “with schools closed rich kids continued to get expensive private tuitions, whereas middle class and less well-off children didn't have access to the same resources. Fair?” he asked.

While highlighting the UK current state he asked the government “Why predicted grades are being opted in the UK, and why can they also be fairer over conducting exams?”
While emphasizing on the need for understanding students’ demands, Nawazish said that firstly, predicted grades could be easily given to students. He said that the UK, which is the origin of Cambridge exams, has given predicted grades to students for the second time. “I am unable to understand why the UK which has red-listed Pakistan over Covid-19 surge, is allowing physical exams in Pakistan?”
He said that the authorities need to understand the science behind school-assessed grades, “The core reason why it is unfair to take exams at the moment is because the students have been affected disproportionately,” he said.

He further said that the students are demanding school-assessed grades because their education has remained disrupted throughout the year, considering online classes and faulty internet.
“I have remained a high-achieving student myself, but in these circumstances I would have been in a grave mental stress if I had to give exams,” he stated.
He requested the government to not vilify students who are demanding SAGs, “they are not a Mafia,” he asserted.
