Masons' son tops in MDCAT
Parkash Kumar, the son of a poor mason, stunned everybody by taking first place in Sindh's Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT). He came in fourth place overall in the nation.
Parkash, a student at a government school in Badin, was the overall winner of the exam, which had 7,797 participants from Sindh. He came in fourth place out of a total of 194,133 candidates that took part in the MDCAT, which was held from August to October.

Parkash and his family moved to Badin's Gulab Laghari hamlet 15 years ago, from a rural village called Kharyo Ghulam Shah, around 30 kilometers from Islamkot city in the Tharparkar area.
He attended a government school in the area for primary and secondary schooling before enrolling in Higher Secondary School Chambar in Tando Allah Yar district for higher secondary education, which is roughly eight kilometres from his village.
Parkash wants to enroll in Dow Medical College with the goal of maintaining a perfect academic record for the rest of his life.
