HEC rubbishes the reports of university rankings published by some media outlets
The Higher Education Commission has clarified that there is no evaluation conducted to rank the universities based on ‘online readiness’ by the commission.
According to reports, HEC clarified that the news regarding rankings published by some media outlets in the name of HEC is far from any truth. HEC has also said that the online readiness report is made available to people by these outlets is based on their private survey.
The report further said that 30 percent universities are yet to submit the required information. The demand for the information by HEC is to help these universities in performing better. The request for the stats and percentile will be submitted by the universities according the date set by them and these stats does not reveal quality of “Online readiness”.
Moreover, according to information submitted by the universities, 108,084 courses are being taught out of 112,109 by them, said the report.
HEC has also asked the media outlets to not exaggerate or publish unverified reports.
