HEC announces PhD Commonwealth Scholarship for fall 2021

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced the Commonwealth Scholarships to study PhD in the United Kingdom for the fall of 2021. The scholarship is fixed annual program funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and is an opportunity offered to Pakistani and AJK nationals.

The purpose of the scholarships is to subsidize the developing needs of the Commonwealth countries by improving research and refining individual teaching skills that will lead to a surge in institutional capacity in academia and other sectors.

The scholarships are offered in the six development themes including Science and Technology for Development, Strengthening Health Systems and Capacity, Promoting Global Prosperity, Strengthening Global Peace, Security, and Governance, Strengthening Resilience and Response to Crises, and Access, Inclusion, and Opportunity.

The scholarship is a fully-funded program that covers the tuition fee and the approved airfare from the home country to the UK, stipend, a paid mid-term visit, and study travel grants. The last date to apply for the scholarship is January 18, 2021.
