Govt to introduce Single National Curriculum in primary classes from 2021
The Federal Government is all set to implement the Single National Curriculum from the next academic session in the year 2021 and have ordered the publication of textbooks for the execution of the plan.
“The SNC has been prepared and now provincial governments have been directed to get the books published according to the requirements,” Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood said while talking to a local media on Monday. The minister said that new curriculum books would be introduced at the beginning of the new academic session.

According to reports, the government plans to implement the SNC in phases. The syllabus will first be introduced at a primary level (prep to class five) in the upcoming session in 2021, the secondary level (six to eight) the SNC will be introduced during the session year 2022. In the final phase, the new syllabus will be introduces for classes nine to 12. Minister urged provinces to get the books published.
The education department and Nation Curriculum Council (NCC) are confident about the plan for the phase wise execution of Single National Curriculum (SNC) in primary classes with the instigation of the new academic session.

It is pertinent to note that government’s decision to introduce SNC in the country generated a critical debate in the beginning of the year 2020.
