Education Sector Neglected Once Again
Education Sector Neglected Once Again
For the Fiscal Year 2022–2023, Gilgit–Baltistan (GB) has announced a total budget of Rs119.32 billion. Just Rs2.25 billion went to the education sector. It is regrettable that the government of Gilgit-Baltistan has allotted such a modest sum to education, which is crucial for the advancement of society.
The fact that enough money has been set aside for ministers' state-approved automobiles in addition to a sizable raise in their wages is a stark illustration of the ruling elite's skewed priorities.
Additionally, the budget was unable to address the energy crisis. Budget figures from the previous year and the actual situation differ drastically.
