Edtech will be the main pillar of Pakistan's education policy, Shafqat Mahmood

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood has said that Edtech will be the central pillar of Pakistan Education Policy 2021.

We will use Edtech to make education comprehensive, integrated, and an ecosystem in education that will provide students with better development opportunities as they become familiar with and understand technology.

The Education Minister expressed these views during a meeting with the owners of the Edtech industry. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss Pakistan Education Policy 2021 and its use of technology. Federal Minister Shafqat Mehmood said that the future of education lies in technology, and Edtech has encouraged innovation in the learning process.

He added that the Federal Ministry of Education and Vocational Training would launch a 200 million dollar project in partnership with the World Bank to develop online content, which will also help boost Pakistan's Edtech industry.

The Federal Minister said that we are incorporating computer education in the national education policy for classes 6 to 8. The ministry focuses on promoting online content, and the USF has been asked to increase Internet connectivity and coverage across the country.

The Ministry of Education will also take the initiative to train teachers to adopt the latest technology and procedures. 

He further said that efforts would be made to tackle the challenge of out-of-school children with the help of Edtech in educational institutions through Edtech. "Now is the time to bring classrooms into our homes," he said.
