Chinese University to set up a hospital in Lahore to prevent coronavirus

China’s Kunming University of Science and Technology has announced to set up a hospital in Lahore for the treatment of coronavirus and conducting research.

The Chinese university has also announced a donation of corona-test kits, masks, and gloves to Pakistan. While the delegation of Chinese Kunming University of Science and Technology will visit Lahore next week, Chinese Kunming University of Science and Technology and University of Health Sciences Lahore (UHS) will form an established a joint research group.

According to details, University of Health Sciences Lahore (UHS) Chancellor/Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar, UHS Vice Chancellor Dr. Javed Akram, Chinese Consul General in Lahore Long Dingbin, and Chinese Kunming University of Science and Technology’s VC Prof. Dr. Lee Sung attended a virtual conference at Governor House Lahore.

In the conference, Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar and UHS VC Dr. Javed Akram informed the Chinese authorities about the prevailing situation due to the corona pandemic in Punjab, the uptick in the number of corona-infected patients and the matters related to it.

The Chinese university will set up a hospital on Kala Shah Kaku Campus of UHS and a Chinese delegation will visit UHS Lahore next week and start working in collaboration with UHS doctors on various matters. In the collaborative effort to prevent corona, the research will be conducted on what are the types of coronavirus; prevention from corona; medicines to prevent corona, and on the virus.
