A School in Balochistan’s Kech District Set Ablaze
During the night, unknown people set fire to the Kalkshan School building in the Kech region of Balochistan, destroying the furniture and equipment in two rooms. A member of the administration stated that the motives behind the arsonists’ actions are still unknown, and they are still at large.
The school's aim is to provide quality education to children in a remote area of Balochistan.
A police investigation has been launched after this incident. District Deputy Commissioner of Kech, Bashir Ahmad, says no arrests have been made and no evidence has been revealed as of now. There is no individual or organization that has claimed responsibility for the incident.
The investigation in this regard is ongoing and legal authorities are trying to arrest and punish the accused as soon as possible.
People in the area held a Jirga (tribal council) against the incident and vowed that the school would not be closed and the children's education would continue. The third incident of this type has occurred in Kech district. Two schools have been torched previously in a similar manner.
