A request to include the Holy Quran with translation in the curriculum was rejected
Sindh High Court rejected a request to include the Holy Quran with translation in the curriculum from primary to college.
The Supreme Court ruled in its decision that the constitution keeps a balance between judiciary, legislature, and executive. Unless fundamental rights are violated, the Sindh High Court cannot order the curriculum to be changed.
The court stated in its judgment that faith is a personal matter, and it cannot be interfered with.
Despite the constitution's positive rights, the Sindh High Court ruled that the state must not interfere with people's private affairs.
Article 20 of the Constitution provides citizens with religious freedom, which the Supreme Court said can be exercised by them as they desire.
