23 Pakistani universities made it to Times Higher Education impact category-ranking list
While the global pandemic has put the country's educational activities on halt, 23 Pakistani universities found their place in the impact category ranking issued by the Times Higher Education, the United Kingdom for the year 2020.
Time Higher Education is one of the top providers of higher education data for the world's research-led institutions. Their work with individual clients builds on the foundations of their World University Rankings, which has been adopted as a geopolitical indicator as well as an aid to the strategic management of institutions and a crucial factor in the study choices made by millions of students around the world.
THE’s impact ranking of 2020 included 766 universities from 85 countries. The Impact Rankings, which assess the social and economic impact of universities, using metrics based on the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals is the second edition of THE.
The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore, leads the chart of Pakistani universities, which was followed by COMSATS University Islamabad and the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST).
According to the published article on Impact listing by THE, “New Zealand’s University of Auckland once again leads the overall THE Impact Rankings, despite an additional 299 institutions joining the table this year, while Australia’s University of Sydney, Western Sydney University and La Trobe University complete the top four.”
