Thousands of teachers apply for transfer & posting from Punjab govt schools
Thousands of teachers at Punjab's School Education Department (SED) educational institutions have applied for transfer and posting under the department's e-transfer policy.
Over 28,500 teachers have requested transfer and posting to different cities, according to details. Out of the total of 28,000 teachers, 16,000 are female and the rest are male.
The former Punjab administration declared last month that the e-transfer portal for the transfer and posting of SED Punjab teachers will be reopened.
The portal reopened on March 31st, and the deadline for application submission was April 13th. The Education Department will verify applications until April 23rd, and then issue transfer and posting orders on April 25th.
Usman Buzdar, the former Chief Minister of Punjab, created a transparent and corruption-free transfer and posting policy for both school and college teachers in 2020.
The province administration had also established an e-transfer mobile application in support of this programme, which allows users to check the progress of their applications and obtain their orders.
