The University of Agriculture in Faisalabad Distributes Scholarships worth Rs170 million
Under HEC’s Benazir Undergraduate Scholarship (Phase 2) of in Faisalabad’s Agriculture University, scholarships worth Rs. 17 crore were distributed among 1,868 students. The institute’s Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Iqar Ahmed, the HEC Project Director Rao Muhammad Azhar, the Director of Financial Assistants, and the University Advance Minister Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ahsan Khan distributed the checks to the students during a ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Iqar Ahmed Khan said that under this scholarship, scholarships are being distributed to 3,500 students from the University of Agriculture in different phases.
The Agricultural University, Faisalabad, is focused on enhancing the prowess in students from villages under the rural quota to acknowledge and pursue the goal to be self-sufficient along with increasing their production per acre by harnessing these valuable skills.
Dr. Ahmed Khan further stated that scholarships are being provided to thousands of students in the University of Agriculture to continue their journey of education. He said that steps are being taken to develop agriculture on modern lines and solve a few of the problems faced by farmers, which will have a positive impact in the coming days. Rao Muhammad Azhar said that the journey of development is impossible without access to modern education and knowledge-based economy for which all possible steps are being taken by the Higher Education Commission.
Appreciating the efforts of the University of Agriculture, he said that this institute is considered to be the first agricultural university in the subcontinent which has ensured food security while striving for the development of agriculture. Dr. Muhammad Ahsan stated that all the resources are being provided for the financial support of the students by the institution, so that they can play their role in the prosperity of the country as useful citizens.
