Ehsaas Undergraduate Scholarship Portal will go online on Sep 5
The directing committee for Ehsaas undergraduate scholarship project called the sixth meeting to evaluate the project's growth for the academic sessions 2019-20 and maneuver the plan for 2020-21.
The meeting discussed the overall advancement of the Ehsaas scholarships worth Rs. 4.827 billion being granted to 50,762 undergraduate students for the year 2019-20.
The navigation committee also reviewed the timeline for scholarship dispersal and disbursements to 119 public sector universities. The meeting also announced that the Ehsaas application portal would go online in the first week of Sep 2020 for the online proposal for 2020-21.

The governing committee for the Ehsaas Undergraduate Scholarship project was co-chaired by SAPM Dr. Sania Nishtar and Chairman HEC Dr. Tariq Banuri.
"Overall, 50,000 undergraduate scholarships (50% of girls) will be given every year to deserving students. The four-year, Rs. Twenty-four billion scholarship program aims to support 200,000 students from low-income backgrounds", said SAPM Dr. Sania Nishtar.
"Transparency and equity are being ensured through joint monitoring and evaluation mechanism set up under this shared initiative," assured Chairman HEC.
The Ehsaas undergraduate scholarship project by the Prime Minister in March 2020 is available for all students from low-income backgrounds studying in undergraduate degree programs in public sector universities. In the previous year, 132,192 undergraduate students had applied for scholarships using HEC's online portal.

The inquiry of applications received last year was confirmed early this year and post COVID-19, with the re-opening of universities, the whole process was accelerated. The scholarship would cover the tuition fee and would also provide a living stipend.
The meeting decided that the Ehsaas undergraduate portal will go up on Sep 5, 2020, to receive applications for 2020-21.
