Student usage of ChatGPT has become a problem for HEC
The Higher Education Commission of Pakistan officials have scrambled to deal with some of the negative effects caused by the new artificial intelligence program "GPT model," which reacts to human behavior.
A key component of this model is the expert style factors, such as answering questions, commenting on topics, and focusing on articles, summaries, and translations, which the leading search engine Google does not provide.
Additionally, ChatGPT has surprised experts in other professions, such as IT, while on the other hand, students are completely taken with the AI software.
It has become so common at the university level that students across disciplines and fields use it for their theses and assignments.
HEC's software for detecting plagiarism in thesaurus writing is unable to identify texts written with this model, despite its rapid response to any question.
Speaking with Express News, HEC Chairman Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad stated that these problems have been brought to HEC's attention and solutions have been requested regarding the misuse of AI in education.
As Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad said, if we cannot find a solution for this immediately, then we can recommend that PTA stop its use in the country or limit its use to some extent, but this will be the last option.
The ChatGPT model works in the same manner as a chat model, which allows anyone to offer an opinion on any topic through a regular conversation, provide information in their own words, and further improve the questions they ask regarding this information.
Due to its ability to present with details, its use has increased not only among students, but also among college and university teachers.
