Sindh to take matric and inter exams in May, June

The Department of Sindh Education and Literacy said in a meeting on Wednesday that the matriculation and intermediate examinations are scheduled for May 20 and June 10, respectively.

The decision came after a meeting of the education department's steering committee held at the Karachi Intermediate Board office in which some suggestions were made regarding examinations in the province.

Various recommendations were made during the meeting. However, the authorities agreed on ten recommendations.

Here are the recommendations:

1) The institutes will be kept bound to complete the practicals after the beginning of classes.

2) The exam papers will be created on old patterns as decided by the IBCC.

3) Model papers considering the present strategic framework of the COVID-19 pandemic will be developed by all the boards.

4) The examination dates are proposed as under:

a) The date for SSC Part I & II Annual Examination, is May 20, 2021

b) The date for HSC Part I & II Annual Examination, 2021 is June 10, 2021

5) As notified by the Sindh government, all internal supervisors of the examination centers may be given orders to obey the SOPs during the exams.

6) The District Administration may also be taken on board to implement the SOPs during the exams as well as maintain law and order.

7) Exams to be carried out through centralized and home, by the plan to be formed by each board, taking into account the viability and other factors.

8) Results may be announced after 90 days from the date of completion of exams in both the SSC Part II and HSC Part II.

9) It should be made obligatory for the heads and teachers of institutions to carry out the board's assignments.
