Shafqat Mahmood left his position as minister of education
"On Sunday I relinquished charge as Federal Minister for Education, Professional training culture & heritage. In the last 3 and half years I feel satisfied that I was able to contribute to Education and to heritage and culture. Inshallah I will continue to do my best for Pakistan"
Political instability in Pakistan, lead to Shafqat Mehmood giving up his post as Federal Minister for Education, Professional Training Culture and Heritage as the man himself hands over the charge due to the National Assembly being dissolved and new elections expected soon.
His tenure as an education minister has been rather debatable throughout and students have often demanded him stepping down from his post on many occasions due to various decisions taken by him that did not seem favorable to the students.
It would not be wrong to say that poor decision making was not the sole factor of affecting his tenure rather covid-19 has been equally responsible. It was most likely that he would have completed his 5 years as the education minister but as the government reached its early end, he had to call it quits as well.
