Scholarships for Pakistani students are doubled by the British Council
Pakistani students will now be able to apply for 100 percent more scholarships thanks to the British Council.
The scholarships are offered through the Scotland Pakistani Scholarship program for young women and girls. Through the British Council, the Scottish Government offers these scholarships to Pakistani women.
Neil Gray, the Minister for International Development for the Scottish Government, announced an additional £500,000 for scholarship funding.
Underprivileged girls affected by floods will have the opportunity to receive twice as many scholarships. By providing scholarships, flood-affected women and girls will have a better chance of continuing their education.
Through the Scottish Pakistan Scholarship Scheme, scholarships are provided to underprivileged girls in Pakistan to help them pursue higher education and secondary education. The scheme is open to all universities recognized by the HEC across Pakistan.
Moreover, the Foundation offers scholarships to young girls at the secondary level (grades 8-12), enabling them to pursue their education despite financial constraints, which is a concern faced by most Pakistani girls.
Women and girls in Pakistan will benefit from scholarships by gaining access to education and empowerment.
