Punjab to establish 10 new universities
Among the latest developments in education in Punjab, the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) has launched a “Rehnumai Markaz portal” to facilitate students in getting updates and in resolving their issues while the funds have been set aside to establish 10 universities for research in health, agriculture, education and other fields.
Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar in a meeting with Chairman Punjab Higher Education Commission Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid confirmed that the provincial government is tracking a policy of setting up universities all the district of Punjab. Plan has been made and executed on the establishment of 15 new universities in Punjab province, he added.

According to reports, the Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar has appreciated the initiatives and commended the role of Punjab Higher Education Commission as controller and facilitator of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). He said that PTI Government is dedicated to upgrade the standard of education, adding that all Vice Chancellors have been selected on merit and fair induction will be ensured in universities at all levels in the future as well.
