Punjab to act against unvaccinated school staff and teachers
The Punjab School Department (SED) has announced that action will be taken against the teachers who have not got themselves vaccinated for COVID-19.
The government of Punjab had made coronavirus vaccination for teachers and staff of all private and public sector schools mandatory. According to reports, the individuals who have not taken their vaccination shots till August 22 were not allowed to enter the school premises.
The department has confirmed that by August 22, around 98 per cent of public and private school teachers have got vaccinated.

However, as many as 3,800 teachers in Punjab had not received their covid vaccine while 600,000 teachers of public and private schools had received their shots, said the reports.
The government had directed the teachers and staff to submit their vaccination certificates in their respective institutes, while SED had started monitoring teams to go for the surprise visits to check the vaccination certificates of the teachers and staff.
