PMC announces admission criteria for colleges
The Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) has announced the admissions process for private medical and dental colleges.
The Commission outlined in its announcement the eligibility requirements, merit generation, exemptions, and mandatory paperwork for students pursuing entry to private medical and dental colleges nationwide.
MDCAT Exemption
For the year 2021 only, students who have completed 12 years of education outside Pakistan would not be eligible to undergo the Medical and Dental College Entry Examination (MDCAT). Instead, these students would need SAT II scores, with a minimum score of at least 480 in each subject.

International students should have biology scores of at least 40 percent, chemistry 35 percent, and physics and mathematics 25 percent.
As SAT I examination was not taken elsewhere in the world due to the COVID-19 spread, students who enrolled at an English medium school would be further excluded from applying English grades.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for entry to private medical and dental colleges this year, students need to meet the following criteria:
- Minimum 65% or above marks in FSC/HSSC or A-Levels equivalent IBCC certificate.
- 60% or above marks in MDCAT or SAT II.
- SAT II (for international candidates only), 60% or above in each subject.
Applications that do not follow the above conditions will not be entertained, according to the PMC statement. Admissions will be given based on merit, and there will be no separate quota for students from abroad.
