Pakistani Students Return to China after the Pandemic
Rana Tanveer Hussain, the Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, arrived to the Islamabad Airport to see off the first batch of Pakistani students returning to China after the Covid-19 travel restrictions were relaxed.
The departing students were met by the federal minister, as well as senior officials from the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (FE&PT) and the Higher Education Commission.
The Education Minister stated that 105 pupils have returned and that the other students would be able to travel back soon.
He praised Secretary of State for Education Naheed Durani and ED HEC Shaista Sohail for their contributions to the issue's settlement.
A number of discussions were allegedly held between all relevant stakeholders, including the Chinese Embassy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Higher Education Commission, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad, to address the issue of 5,832 students who provided their personal information online to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad (MoFA).
The federal minister said that all 105 students have completed the procedural requirements for the ISB-XIY charter flight.
He continued that hopefully they would land safely at Xi'an Xianyang International Airport and resume their studies.
Tanveer ensured that the concerns of the Pakistani students would be addressed on a priority basis, and were of great importance.
