The government of Sindh has decided to retake all matriculation tests that were leaked on social media platforms before the exams began in the province.
Sindh's Minister for Universities and Boards, Muhammad Ismail Rahoo, spoke to the media and ordered all educational boards in the province to retake the leaked final matric papers.
The Minister stated that a high-level inquiry board has been constituted to investigate the paper leak, and that all individuals found to be involved will face severe consequences.
The chiefs of all school boards in the province have been told to work with the investigative committee to find the people responsible for the matric yearly exams being leaked.
Matric exams began earlier this week across Sindh, according to the Minister. This year, around 700,000 students are taking the exams. To prevent cheating, 11 monitoring teams are on the field. So far, 16 pupils have been arrested for cheating.
When asked about load-shedding at the exam sites in the province, the Minister stated that he has written to power distribution companies to ensure that exam centres have constant access to electricity.
