Lahore's Medical Colleges abolish admission quota for other provinces
The admission quota for applicants from provinces other than Punjab has been abolished by the top public medical colleges in Lahore and added to the Open Merit group.

King Edward Medical College University, Allama Iqbal Medical College (AIMC), Fatima Jinnah Medical University (FJMU), the Service Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS), and Ameer-ud-Din Medical College are the colleges that have made this change.
FJMU added 47 seats to the open merit list, KEMU added eight seats, AIMC added nine, SIMS added 18, and Ameer-ud-Din Medical College added three seats after the abolition of the admission quota.

The candidates from the remaining provinces will now go for an open merit list for admissions to the medical colleges of Lahore. This progress will be good for local candidates, but it will be a disappointment for the other provinces' candidates.
