Karachi: Gas Leak in School Causes Children to Lose Consciousness
A spokesperson for the office of the Additional Director of Private Schools, Rafia Javed, said this in an interview with the media. Due to the incident, the education department will fine the school. The school director said the children fell unconscious due to the smoke from the generator. They are now out of danger.
It has now been revealed that the school was running unregistered, and that it is a community school where poor children are educated, and further investigation is being conducted. The local police claim that the incident occurred as a result of smoke coming from the generator in the school.
Hospital authorities report that 14 children were unconscious, of whom 10 are now in better shape, and four are under observation.
The affected children were immediately transported to Civil Hospital by Edhi Ambulance after this incident occurred at the school within the limits of Kalri police station. Upon receiving the information, a police team immediately reached the private school. In this case, the Crime Scene Unit was also called.
Police officers from the local police department as well as Baghdadi police acted immediately after receiving the call from 15 to rescue the trapped children. They transferred them to the civil hospital. At the time of the incident, 200 children were present at the school.
