Accused Identified in Leaked Chandigarh University Videos
An Indian army official made indecent videos of female students in the washroom of Chandigarh University in the Indian state of Punjab and helped them go viral. The police have detained him.
Chandigarh University is being investigated for making indecent videos of female students, and new revelations are being made during the investigation, according to Indian media.
Arunachal Pradesh Police has detained an Indian Army officer on the charge of making and leaking the video after identifying the accused.
As a result of the scandal coming to light, the Punjab Police claim Indian soldier Sanjeev Singh escaped.
3 accused including a female student are already in the custody of the Punjab Police, in connection with the videos made in the washroom of the girls’ hostel of Chandigarh University. They include Rinkej Verma and Sunny Mehta, both from Himachal Pradesh.
Police say the arrested student made videos and sent them to her friend in Himachal, who made the indecent videos viral. Arunachal Pradesh police arrested an Indian officer from Arunachal Pradesh during the investigation.
Following the video leak controversy, several students attempted suicide. Over 60 indecent videos were allegedly made of female students, but the Punjab Police denied this.
According to the police, only one student made her private videos and sent them to her friend in Himachal. Her mobile phone has no video of any other student.
