IIUI Announces the Launch of an Online Distance Learning Portal
The Directorate of Distance Learning (DDL) of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) has established its Online Distance Learning (ODL) portal.
On Thursday, the IIUI's President, Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi, inaugurated the portal at the new campus of the varsity.
With the launch of the portal, the institution has begun enrolling students in eight-week online certifications in Training Design and Delivery, Business Etiquette and Personality Development, Urdu short course for foreigners, Academic Writing, and Arabic Language. The IIUI President, speaking at the inaugural ceremony, said that the online site was the culmination of President of Pakistan and University Chancellor, Dr. Arif Alvi's, aspirations.

He also praised the DDL team for their hard work and dedication in introducing the university to the virtual world.
“This is the age of competition, and IIUI, in pursuit of meeting all the global standards, has taken a major step towards success and transformation through ODL mode,” He went on to explain that in the coming semester, the university will unveil ODL-based degree programs.
The IIUI's DDL portal, according to the president, would initially target Central Asian states, China, and Africa. He asked the faculty to participate actively in this program in order for it to be a success, and he expressed hope that the commitment to academic achievement would continue.
According to Dr. Hathal Homoud, the post-pandemic world necessitates the development of new routes without sacrificing educational quality.

He also stated that the university will soon implement a new promotion strategy "based on rule and justice" for academic members.
Professor Dr. N.B. Jumani, Vice President Administration and Finance/Director DDL, and his team were praised by the IIUI President for their efforts in making the ODL portal a success.
Professor Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, Vice President R&E, Professor Dr. Ayaz Afsar, Vice President Academics, Professor Dr. Samina Malik, deans, prominent faculty members, and key officers attended the ceremony.
