The ongoing campaign against hijab has intensified in India following some recent incidents. In the city of Mangalore, Karnataka, Hindu students of the university staged a sit-in protest against the hijab. Hindu students demand ban on wearing hijab in classroom.
Hindu students threatened hijab-wearing female students. The pro-Muslim and anti-Muslim administration of the university did not take any action against the extremist Hindu students protesting inside the university.
For some time now, female students and staff members of schools and colleges in Karnataka have been banned from wearing hijab, while Muslim female students have approached the local court against this ban.
