HEC orders varsities to go online till April 11
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) Wednesday announced that universities in coronavirus high-risk areas must take classes online till April 11, following the government's orders to close educational institutions' in selected cities.

"The HEC has clarified that all universities shall continue to operate as per guidelines issued earlier except for educational institutions, which were earlier closed due to the high positivity rate," the institution said in a statement.
However, the pre-scheduled and the on-going exams can go as planned with complete compliance of COVID-19 standard operating procedures, report said.

HEC has directed varsities to comply with strict observance of the COVID-19 minimum health and safety protocols — thermal scanning, wearing of facemasks, social distancing, availability, regular use of sanitizers, and disinfection of buildings.
