Educational Institutions Closed & Exams Postponed in Karachi Due to Rainfall
Heavy rains cause flooding in Karachi's Gadap Town and Scheme-33, and three people die in Khairpur
All educational institutions in Karachi and other districts of Sindh will remain closed on Thursday (tomorrow) due to extended torrential rains on Wednesday.
Sindh Education Minister Sardar Ali Shah made these remarks following a rainy day across the province and a forecast of heavy downpour on Thursday, August 17th.
After reviewing the situation, ASPSCA Chairman Haider Ali had already announced that schools and colleges would remain closed on Thursday.
According to the minister, all private and public educational institutions in Karachi and other parts of Sindh will remain closed on August 18th.
Exams have been delayed
Due to the heavy rain forecast and road conditions after Wednesday's rainfall, the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) has also postponed exams for all groups on August 18th, today.
Earlier this week, a press release announced that the postponed exams would be held on August 25th at the same time and location.
Colleges have also been instructed to reschedule practical exams.
