China plans to provide ‘scientific education’ to its population by 2025
According to reports, in 3 years China plans to provide higher scientific education to 15% of its population.
According to officials of the Ministry of Science and Technology, China aims to provide said education to 15% of its population by 2025 to increase the proportion of scientifically educated citizens in China. He said the proportion of scientifically cognizant citizens was 10.56% in 2020, exceeding the 10% target set in the country's 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020).
He stated that scientific literacy refers to the knowledge of scientific methods and the ability to apply them to analysis and problem solving. According to this plan, in the next few years, China will increase efforts to develop a diversified investment mechanism and more educational foundations to popularize science education, which will be coordinated by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Communist Party of China.
