All exams at Punjab university cancelled for the day
Because of the country's unpredictable political environment, Punjab University has decided to postpone examinations for all of its departments, institutes and centres.
Dr. Niaz Ahmed Akhtar, the university's vice chancellor, said on Twitter that all examinations scheduled for Wednesday, May 25th, have been postponed. Later, a revised exam schedule will be released for the students.
A number of universities in Punjab and Islamabad have closed campuses, postponed exams, and moved to online classes due to the current instability in the political situation.
Many precautions have been announced by other universities including Bahria University, National University of Science and Technology (NUST), Air University, Lahore College for Women University, and Allama Iqbal Open University to ensure the safety of students and employees.
The yearly matric exams have also been postponed by the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) and the Rawalpindi Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (RBISE).
The exam scheduled for May 25 has been postponed by BISERWP, and the exams set for May 25 and 26 have been postponed by FBISE. The updated exam schedules will be announced by both boards in due time.
