Universities to resume classes from 1st June 2020

Dr. Tariq Banuri, Chairman of The Higher Education Commission (HEC) announces that HEC has come up with respective plans to restart online education for University students. This step has been initiated to minimize the loss of education due to the closure of educational institutes.

Dr. Banuri said, “HEC has already signed an agreement with telecommunication companies to provide Special Internet packages to students, especially to those who are living in remote areas".

HEC is also examining the possibility of providing smartphones to those students who cannot afford to overcome their academic loss. A report stated that many students cannot take online classes because of the unavailability of gadgets and devices. HEC has also instructed the universities to list down the data of such students.
