The KP Education Foundation will assist private sector in establishing more schools
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Elementary and Secondary Education Foundation (ESEF), an autonomous entity established in 2002 by an ordinance, plans to assist the private sector in establishing schools in places where there are no educational institutions and would pay tuition fees for its students.
According to the ESEF records, 10,000 out-of-school children will be enrolled in those schools during the next academic year, which will begin in August.
They claim that the project will be carried out with the help of the department of basic and secondary education, and that Rs589.8 million will be spent on it in 2022-23.
The foundation will enter into partnerships with private elementary schools that have six rooms with furniture, power, running water, a computer with accessories and internet connection, washrooms, at least five teachers, and security clearance from nearby police stations. In addition, high schools will have extra resources such as libraries, science labs, and computer labs.
The government seeks to expand the private education industry, provide job possibilities for educated individuals, and assist parents by covering the costs of tuition, textbooks, and shoes for their children who are enrolled.
