The Future of the Nation Rests on Skills Education, Vice Chancellors Meeting Confirms
The relevance of skills education was stressed at a three-day All Pakistan Vice Chancellors' Committee Meeting held at PC Bhurban. Almost every speaker at the conference urged academic leaders to prepare their institutions for the problems that may arise in the post-COVID-19 era.
Mr. Usman Dar, SAPM on Youth Affairs, gave a speech on the second day of the meeting. In Prime Minister Hunarmand Pakistan's effort, he praised the role of skill-training institutes, notably the National Skills University Islamabad. The Education Policies for Undergraduate and Ph.D. Programs was a hotly debated topic. Stakeholders, such as public and private higher education institutions, were harshly critical of both ideas. However, the HEC's Executive Director pledged to modify these regulations in accordance with worldwide standards, expressing gratitude to everybody engaged in their development.

The third day was the most exciting and forward-looking. HEC financed projects boosting instructors and learners' abilities were detailed in presentations by Rector NAHE, Prof Dr. Shaheen Sardar Ali, and Ms. Maryam Riaz, Project Coordinator, Higher Education Development Project (HEDP), a World Bank-funded project. The Pakistan Software Houses Association for IT and ITES (P@SHA) representative emphasised the importance of critical skills in boosting graduates' employability in national and international markets.
