Students in Lahore to get free medical treatment

The Government of Punjab has announced the Sehat Sahulat Program. They will provide Insaf Health Cards to students of higher secondary schools in Lahore. The District Education Officer reportedly sent a letter to the heads of all higher secondary schools in Lahore, directing the recipients to provide relevant student records for this purpose.

This card will allow students from 25 different hospitals in the city to get free medical care. According to the media reports, students are expected to provide their parents' CNIC copies to their respective educational institutes. The health team will pay a visit to the respective schools to collect all the information.

A copy of the letter was acquired by one of the media outlets. A passage from the letter reads as follows:

It is to inform you that by the cooperation of Health Department and SEHAT SAHULAT PROGRAM the health Department will issue INSAAF Health cards for your school’s students for this your cooperation with health Department is very mandatory.

Following the recent outbreaks of COVID-19 in different institutes, the move was perhaps made a precautionary measure. Information about whether this facility would be made open to the whole province is not yet clear.
