Sindh's annual intermediate exams may be postponed
Due to a scheduling conflict with local government elections, Sindh's Education Department is considering delaying the yearly intermediate exams.
According to information, the exams will begin on June 15, and the first phase of the local body election will take place on June 16 in 14 districts across the province.
The Secretary of Sindh's School Education and Literacy Department (SELD) will make the final decision in this regard during a meeting later today that will be attended by all involved parties.
If the Sindh's School Education and Literacy Department authorises deferring inter examinations until after the first round of local government elections, the start of the next academic year for intermediate students in certain districts will be postponed by a few months.
The Education Department, on the other hand, has decided not to postpone exams in Karachi and Hyderabad because local body elections in these two districts would be place in the second phase.
Local government elections in Karachi and Hyderabad will be held on July 24, according to the Election Commission of Pakistan's (ECP) schedule.
