Six boards owe the provincial government money. The withheld grant was allocated to the board's boards as reimbursement by the government in place of Matric and Intermediate level students' registration and examination fees at government educational institutions.
Sindh's educational boards face a financial crisis and are using contingency funds to cover other costs, such as employee wages. Some of them have depleted their reserve funds and are at risk of going bankrupt if they do not collect the funds as soon as possible.
